Jamaal Foundation (JF), the Netherland-based non-governmental Somali organization has organized a football tournament in the sports stadium of Bondhere district in northeast Mogadishu on the International Day of Zero Tolerance, 6 February 2023 for female genital mutilation (FGM).
Before the kick-off of the match, Abdishakur Elmi, one of the JF’s officials, gave sports materials to the district’s head of sports activities, Shute Shanle.
The tournament, which began in the afternoon, was held for Nasib Bunde versus Daljirka, which are among the football clubs in the Bondhere district.
Each team showed a good performance during the match.
Supporters from both teams filed up the stadium, as the sports district commission and other dignitaries witnessed the scene.
The match of the football tournament ended as Nasib Bunde won 3 to 2 goals against Dajirka.
Bondere district commissioner of sports Shute Shanle Ali and the deputy district commissioner of social affairs Ali Adow Mohamud, football trainer Hussein Liif and Abdulahi Abdi (Harufow) also a football trainer were among the officials who gave their closure speeches at the tournament event.
Ali Adow, the deputy district commissioner of social affairs, awarded the winning cup to the winners of the one-day tournament, Nasib Bunder football players as they showed their celebration.
